Why Join Life Groups?
If you’re not quite convinced about why you would need something besides the Sunday services, read on! And even if you’re already connected to a community, you can always use an encouragement or a reminder, right?
Top Four (Real) Reasons to join Life Groups
1. On Sundays, you will no longer feel like a stranger in the crowd. You’ll feel connected in spite of the unfamiliar faces around you. Even though some people might have enjoyed remaining anonymous during Sunday services, after their first few months at Loudoun Bible Church, without exception, they eventually feel disconnected and alone. However, building relationships in a life group is one of the first steps to making the faces recognizable! Our aim for Loudoun Bible Church is that it is a place where nobody stands alone. People who joined a life group have consistently shared that they feel connected even with the whole church.
2. Your life group will be a great support for your journey of life. Your life group can become like family—a “home” away from home. As you build relationships in your life group, you’ll find that you won’t want to stand alone any longer.
3. You will be challenged to grow spiritually in a life group.Because of the nature of a life group, you will probably receive encouragement and challenges by group members. This is a great place to put yourself. It is within this face-to-face context that you can be sharpened spiritually (”as iron sharpens iron”), as well as receive constant encouragement for your spiritual growth.
4. You will be able to make a difference in others’ lives. When we merely receive from others, we can enjoy only half of what Christian life can offer. Christian life can be much fuller only when one begins to use his or her spiritual gifts (God-given strengths) to serve God and others. When you simply respond to the real needs of real people in your life group, you can make a difference in their lives by showing how God has uniquely shaped you.
